Affpuddle is a village in the Piddle Valley, 9 miles east of Dorchester close to Moreton, Tolpuddle and Puddletown. the village dates, at least from Saxon times and is named in the Doomsday book as Affpidela with a manor house belonging to the Abbot of Cerne. The church dates from the time of Edward IV, the tower contains four bells. A school was built in the village in 1870 for the children of noth Affpuddle and Tonerspuddle |
